Terms & Conditions

Melbourne Learning Studio offers two services:

  • Individual Tutoring (one-to-one) and;

  • Small group tutoring

Melbourne Learning Studio offers two payment methods for tutoring fees:

  • Pay as you go – Invoices for tutoring services are processed at the beginning of every month for the number of sessions scheduled for that respective month. Full payment needs to be settled within 14 days of invoice receipt.For example: Invoice for sessions in November 2022 will be generated on the 1st of November. Therefore payment for the November invoice will need to be made latest by the 14th of November.

  • Pre-paid bundle – A package for a set number of tutoring sessions is purchased upfront for a discounted rate. Pre-paid value/bundle packages are non-refundable.

If you are enrolled in INDIVIDUAL LEARNING and PAY AS YOU GO:

  • You will be invoiced on a monthly basis, at the start of every month. Invoices for the respective month need to be paid in full within 14 days of invoice receipt.

  • The fees related to discounted sessions are non-refundable.

If you cancel a scheduled tutoring session:

  • More than 2 days before the scheduled session, you can reschedule your session to a different time prior to your next session or request for full credit to be carried forward.

  • The day before the scheduled session, you can reschedule your session to a different time prior to your next session. No carry forward credits will apply here.

  • On the day of the session, you will not be entitled to a reschedule or carry forward credit.

  • If you fail to appear for a scheduled session, you will not be entitled to a reschedule or carry forward credit.

If you are enrolled in GROUP LEARNING and PAY AS YOU GO

  • You will be invoiced on a monthly basis, at the start of every month. Invoices for the respective month need to be paid in full within 14 days of invoice receipt.

  • The fees related to discounted sessions are non-refundable.

If you cancel a scheduled tutoring session:

  • More than 24 hours before the scheduled session, you can request for full credit to be carried forward.

  • Less than 24 hours before the scheduled session or fail to attend the scheduled session, no credit is available. You can still access recordings and learning materials related to the missed session via the Learning Management System.

  • If a student is missing two (2) or more classes consecutively, they will be automatically be redirected to the *On-Demand Program (Including lesson recordings, learning materials, homework, personalized study plan, WhatsApp / Email clarifications on doubts) and will be charged a standard fee of AUD $15. *For further information, please see below On-Demand Program.

On-Demand Lesson Plan

If a student is missing two (2) or more classes consecutively (due to the student being on vacation or break), they will be automatically redirected to the On-Demand Plan, unless otherwise advised by the parent. A standard fee of $15 per hour (instead of the $25-30 hourly rate for tutoring) will be charged for the on-demand service package which will only be applicable from the 3rd missed session onwards. The first two sessions you will be missing are free. The on-demand sessions will allow the student to retain access to all learning platforms and material, ensuring they are able to cover all the planned lesson topics, keeping them on track even if they are unable to attend the scheduled live sessions.

Any student who is not enrolled in the on-demand sessions, who will be on a break for more than 2 tutoring sessions, will be removed from the group class canvas account and timetable. We are taking this measure to avoid holding spots for students for a prolonged period of time and give the students on the waiting list an equal opportunity to be part of our MLS learning community.

The on-demand lesson package includes the following services:

  • Lesson Recordings - Your child will have full access to all lesson recordings so they are able to keep up with the topic areas covered.

  • Learning Material - All learning material will be available through Canvas, just as it would be for live sessions.

  • Homework - Homework will be assigned and updated on Canvas. Completed homework will be reviewed by our teachers, and feedback/guidance will be provided via email.

  • Personalized Study Plan - Students will be provided with a personalized study plan, carefully curated by our key instructor, Devni Wanigaarachchi - to guide them with their learning requirements during their time away.

  • Whatsapp / Email Clarifications - Students having any doubts/ questions about their learning content and homework can reach out to us via WhatsApp or email for clarification.

If you are enrolled in GROUP LEARNING and pay via a PRE-PAID BUNDLE

 

You will be invoiced for the pre-paid bundle at the time of enrollment. The invoice for the pre-paid bundle needs to be settled in full within 14 days of invoice receipt.

  • The fees related to pre-paid bundle packages (discounted packages) are non-refundable.

If you cancel a scheduled tutoring session:

  • More than 48 hours before the scheduled session, you can request for a change in group times (subject to availability and scheduled group times). You are not entitled to credit.

  • If you miss a session or can’t make a scheduled session, no credit or option to move group times is available if less than 48 hours’ notice is provided. You can still access recordings and learning materials related to the missed session via the Learning Management System.

  • Pre-paid bundles will automatically be renewed the week prior to the last session applicable on the pre-paid package. You must provide 7 days’ notice prior to the renewal date to move to pay as you go.

Requests for credit outside the above mentioned criteria will only be considered by Melbourne Learning Studio under exceptional circumstances and on a case by case basis.

DISCONTINUATION OF LESSONS

  • If a student wishes to discontinue tutoring sessions,  a minimum of 24 hours  notice needs to be provided before their final session. If we do not receive notice and the student does not attend the scheduled lesson - the lesson fee will be charged in full.

LATE PAYMENTS AND DEBT COLLECTION

 

In the event that payments for classes taught are not made within the stipulated time frame, we reserve the right to engage a debt collection agency to recover the outstanding amounts. All costs associated with the debt recovery process, including but not limited to collection agency fees, legal fees, and court costs, will be charged to the debtor.

  • All Learning Material and Recordings provided by MLS should only be used by the  intended student.

  • Learning Materials and Recordings should not be duplicated and/or shared with any external parties. MLS reserves all rights to all material provided, and necessary legal action can be taken if materials are duplicated and distributed without prior consent.
